Rebels Host Armstrong For Senior Night and Coaches vs Cancer
Come check out the Rebels in their final home game this Friday at 7PM. The Rebels will honor their seniors as well as help raise money for the American Cancer Society in their annual Coaches vs Cancer. There will be gift baskets to bid on in a silent auction. Come support the Rebels in their final regular season contest.

Mr. Basketball Committee Announces Top Ten
Congrats to Theo John and McKinley Wright for being selected as a finalist for Mr. Basketball. Here is a list of all ten finalists.

McKinley Wright Breaks Single Game Scoring Record
JT Gibson is Champlin Park's only player to ever win the Mr. Basketball Award in 2015 when he led the 2014-15 Rebels to a 2nd place finish. On the way JT broke the CP all-time scoring record and single game scoring record. Earlier this season, McKinley Wright broke JT's all-time scoring record and last night he broke JT's single game scoring record. McKinley took over the game in the first half when he made 3 three pointers in under a minute. McKinley ended the night with 46 points, 14 rebounds and 8 assists against a defensive minded De La Salle team. Congratulations McKinley!

Champlin Park takes down DeLaSalle in battle of top-ranked teams in the state

Theo John Scores 1,000th Point
Congratulations to Theo John on scoring his 1,000 point last night and it was rather fitting that it was on a dunk. Theo ended the night with 8 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists.

Rebels Take Down #2 Crimson
The Rebels came out Monday night showing why they are the #1 ranked team in Class 4A defeating #2 Maple Grove 70-60. The Rebels defense forced Maple Grove into tough shots most of the night. The Rebels played a poised game led by McKinley Wright with 24 points, 7 Rebounds and 7 Assists and Theo John with 9 points, 5 Blocks and 8 rebounds. The Rebels bench was bug outscoring Maple Grove's nonstarters 12-6. Bennett Otto came off the bench to hit two timely 3's. Irv Russell played 7 solid minutes in the 2nd half while John sat with 4 fouls.

McKinley Wright Breaks JT Gibson's All-Time Scoring Record
Last Friday night before the Rebels defeated Andover, the Rebels took a moment to recognize senior guard, McKinley Wright. He broke JT Gibson's all time scoring record a few weeks back vs Elk River.

McKinley leads the team this season in points (22), assists (7.4) and is 2nd in rebounds (8.1).

McKinley has committed to play at the University of Dayton next Fall. Congratulations to McKinley!

Rebels Take Day Off To Give Back
The Rebels took Thursday off of practice for a greater purpose. Thirty-five players and coaches packed food at Feed My Starving Children in Coon Rapids. During the two hours, they packed 21,600 meals that are going to be sent to Haiti that will feed 60 kids for the next year. Great to see the guys giving back to those in need. The Rebels will be collecting money to donate to FMSC at Friday's game. Help the Rebels Double Team World Hunger.

Rebels Beat #6 Hopkins
The Rebels defeated #6 Hopkins 99-79. Hopkins won the state title last season. Check out the recap from CCX Sports:

Rebels Roll Past Hopkins

Rebels Remain Unbeaten with 85-75 Win Over Park Center
Coming into Tuesday's game, the Rebels had been cruising through several conference opponents. Tuesday night, Park Center offered a challenge and test the Rebels were anticipating. After leading 49-37 at half, the Pirates cut the game to three with 3:47 left. The Rebels combined some big offensive rebounds with some free throws to put away Park Center in front of a full house at Champlin Park.


Next, the Rebels will face off against Hopkins on Thursday at Hopkins. Come check out the Rebels.

Rebels Take Down Osseo
The Rebels knocked off rival Osseo last night 81-64. Rebels took a 39-29 lead into halftime. After playing a pretty even first three minutes, the Rebels responded with a run that included sophicating defense, great passing and timely shooting that ended up putting them up 75-49 with 4 minutes left. The Rebels limited Osseo to 5-27 from beyond the arc and were led by McKinley Wright with 28 points and 10 assists and Brian Smith with 18 points. Elk River comes to Champlin Park on Tuesday for the Rebels next test, come check them out.

Rebels Close Out 2016 With Two More Wins
The Rebels improved their overall record to 7-0 by defeating Woodbury and Madison (WI) East in the Granite City Classic held in St. Cloud over the break. Next up, Coon Rapids (6-1) comes to Champlin Park on Friday as both teams resume their Conference Schedule.
