Rebels Summer Youth Camp
The Rebels will be hosting their Youth Camp this summer from June 26-28th for guys going to be in 3rd-10th grade. Come learn from head coach Mark Tuchsherer and some Rebel Players. More information is attached.

McKinley Wright Named Mr. Basketball

Congrats to McKinley Wright for being named the 2017 Mr. Basketball. McKinley averaged 22.8 points, 8.0 rebounds and 7.4 assists per game and led the Rebels to a 31-1 season. Here is the story on the Star Tribune:

Rebels Pull Away From Trojans
Tied 53-53 with 5:00 left, the Rebels made one last run going on a 13-4 run to finish off Wayzata 70-62. Here is the recap from the Star Tribune:

Dubois Nails Winner As Time Expires

Senior Sam Dubois hit a game winning three as the Rebels defeated Chaska 53-50 in a hard fought battle. The Rebels had sluggish start and were down 30-22 at half. McKinley Wright fueled the comeback scoring on 4 straight possessions in the second half along with Theo John's game high 16 rebounds. With the game tied at 50, McKinley drove with 5 seconds left before missing a contested pull up and the ball ended up being tipped to Sam Dubois to nail the game winner.

Rebels Defeat Osseo in Section Finals
The Rebels got tested by Osseo Friday night. The Rebels prevailed with a 79-74 victory. The Rebels led the entire second half but could never quite put away Osseo until the clock expired sending the Rebels back to state. Here is the the recap from the Star Tribune.

Rebels Raise Over $3000 For American Cancer Society
The Champlin Park Boys Basketball Program and Boosters helped raise $3,047 in our annual Coaches vs Cancer Fundraisor. Special thanks to the boosters, fans and the Armstrong team and fans who helped make this night a success.

McKinley Wright Breaks Single Game Scoring Record
JT Gibson is Champlin Park's only player to ever win the Mr. Basketball Award in 2015 when he led the 2014-15 Rebels to a 2nd place finish. On the way JT broke the CP all-time scoring record and single game scoring record. Earlier this season, McKinley Wright broke JT's all-time scoring record and last night he broke JT's single game scoring record. McKinley took over the game in the first half when he made 3 three pointers in under a minute. McKinley ended the night with 46 points, 14 rebounds and 8 assists against a defensive minded De La Salle team. Congratulations McKinley!

Theo John Scores 1,000th Point
Congratulations to Theo John on scoring his 1,000 point last night and it was rather fitting that it was on a dunk. Theo ended the night with 8 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists.

Rebels Take Down #2 Crimson
The Rebels came out Monday night showing why they are the #1 ranked team in Class 4A defeating #2 Maple Grove 70-60. The Rebels defense forced Maple Grove into tough shots most of the night. The Rebels played a poised game led by McKinley Wright with 24 points, 7 Rebounds and 7 Assists and Theo John with 9 points, 5 Blocks and 8 rebounds. The Rebels bench was bug outscoring Maple Grove's nonstarters 12-6. Bennett Otto came off the bench to hit two timely 3's. Irv Russell played 7 solid minutes in the 2nd half while John sat with 4 fouls.

Rebels Take Day Off To Give Back
The Rebels took Thursday off of practice for a greater purpose. Thirty-five players and coaches packed food at Feed My Starving Children in Coon Rapids. During the two hours, they packed 21,600 meals that are going to be sent to Haiti that will feed 60 kids for the next year. Great to see the guys giving back to those in need. The Rebels will be collecting money to donate to FMSC at Friday's game. Help the Rebels Double Team World Hunger.
